About OLD Super Mario Bros.

This is my current project. The youtube video is shown below

This project is an 8-bit, Super Mario Bros. 1 based game made with Game Maker. Game Maker can be found at yoyogames.com. So far there are eleven levels; 1-1 through 2-4, 3-1, 4-1 and 4-2. In OLD Smb, there are many new enemies, such as red piranha plant, big goomba and koopa, and the chain chomp. I have created five different level themes so far; Overworld, underword, desert, water, and big. My plans for world themes are: World One - Mushroom Plains, World Two - Pokey Desert, World Three - Ocean Side, World Four - Big Land, World Five - Grassy Platue, World Six - Frozen Fields, World Seven - Sky Land, and World Eight - Bowser's Volcanoe. In world 4-2, there is a legendary item, the mega mushroom.

My plans are to expand OLD SMB so far, that it can expand beyond any other mario game. The main way I can accomplish this is by adding not a level editor, but a game editor. The game editor would allow the user to make the main adjustments, such as changing the window title, to changing the level orders. Then, you would be able to go in and change/edit the levels, using a level editor. Then you will save it in a directory, put all those files in a zip or rar archive, send/publish it onto the internet along with a link to this website, and allow others to load it up using OLD SMB and play their own OLD SMB. This means people can do anything from remake an actual game such as Super Mario Bros. 1, or make their own.

The smaller addition would be to add a highscore system. I don't think it would need that much explaination.

My final plan it to make a multiplayer system, where it would be just like the original smb1 multiplayer, except you either play on one computer or connect to another. I plan to have a server file where somebody submits their server, I make a sever file which you can download to use the server. When you connect to the server, you are brought to the server lounge, where you can either challenge someone, or just chat. When you challenge someone, they would then connect to your computer (you challenged so your the host) where you can play through the game or, maybe if I find a way, play through your own game, against them.
